Founded in August 2000, Chebigen was established through a shared vision among academic experts in chemistry, biology, and genomics, together with a team of young and highly qualified researchers. From the outset, our goal has been to grow into a world-class venture dedicated to the development of novel functional substances within the biotech industry.

In our early stages, we focused on commercializing functional materials by applying our proprietary Double Micro-encapsulation technology, developed to enhance the stability of various probiotics and bioactive substances. Since then, through continuous research on self-identified probiotic strains and the verification of their functional benefits, we have successfully advanced the commercialization of specialized probiotic ingredients.

Currently, we are expanding our research scope into Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) of our proprietary probiotics. Our research has confirmed that these probiotics produce various novel functional metabolites and metabolic enzymes that significantly improve the absorption and stability of phytochemicals found in fruits and vegetables. Leveraging these findings, we are actively developing advanced bioconversion processes to commercialize next-generation functional postbiotic ingredients.

Furthermore, we utilize our unique CBDS (Cell-Based Drug Screening System)—a biological model-based High-Throughput Screening (HTS) platform. By analyzing mechanisms related to anti-aging, anti-inflammation, menopause, osteoporosis prevention, cardiovascular health, and dementia, we apply new functional materials derived from natural sources to create safe, side-effect-free health supplements. Simultaneously, we focus on discovering novel ingredients that serve as the foundation for new drug discovery.
